I am an English, German, and Special Education teacher in Public School with a Master's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Special Education. I'm currently a Doctoral student in Special Education. I have two adult children, and everyone in our household is autistic. I'm a multi-fan who's been in fandom since about 1986 (though I attended my first con in about 1982), and have been fannish far longer. I used to write rarely, but enjoy editing and reading fanfic, and have recently been writing more and enjoying it a great deal.
Friending Policy
I friend those whom I've gotten to know well enough to feel comfortable with them reading my very personal posts. I leave a great deal unlocked, including fannish stuff, political stuff, some stuff about my kids, occasional work stories, and random other things. I don't have issues with the terminology and don't feel I've been dismissed as a "friend" if I'm removed from a friends list, nor do I remove others as a way of dismissing actual friendship, but rather as a practical way of keeping my LJ manageable in terms of time and interest.

Friending Policy
