I recently watched Goong, mainly because I enjoyed Coffee Prince and Goong also stars the delightful Yoon Eun Hye.
Sadly, I hated it. I can see why it's so popular, because the leads are all very attractive and the plot is ultra-dramatic and the sets and clothes are lovely, and Ms. Yoon has amazing screen presence. But I really truly hated every single character on this show. Even the sweet old grandmother. She was an awful person just like everyone else. The intense cuteness of Chae-Kyeong's parents didn't keep them from being awful, either. And don't get me started on the two assholes vying for Chae-Kyeong's affections.
I kept watching because I wanted to give it a chance--and because of all the pretty--but ultimately it left a bad taste in my mouth. I would love to see more of Yoon Eun Hye in the future, but I hope she chooses projects I won't hate.
