adoreI have tangentially absorbed Stray Kids fannish joy in the past thanks to kat_lair, dreamersdare and recently pushkin666 but now my fannish joy is tangential no more, because I have become obsessed with Yang Jeongin. Behold, I have an icon now.
The seed was planted when I watched Kingdom: Legendary War and Jeongin cried because his voice cracked in the performance and I was like awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! It's okay baby! You did really well sweetie! I didn't even notice your voice cracked (and someone in the comments said that they didn't realise that the crack was not on purpose to express the emotion of the song). And the other members comforted him and you know hurt/comfort really gives my heart an affection erection.He looks so pretty when he cries that I nearly self-diagnosed with dacryphilia
And then I saw this, and I was like oh my goddess his outfit with THIS choreo on this song? Incredible. I love that it's a mesh crop top and I thought I'd love for him to wear more crop tops...
...And then he did wear a crop top! And I've been watching fancam after fancam of this performance from different angles and when I'm not watching them they're playing spontaneously, uncontrollably, involuntarily and incessantly in my brain.
And whenever my brain is on pause, guess what my brain's screensaver is. This.

Anyway, he has chosen VIOLENCE lately, and that solo performance in particular was an assault.
Sadly, there is not a lot of fic about him that I would class as good tbh. I did rec 10 Seungmin/Jeongin fics here and there's also one in this lot of recs. I don't read self-insert fics because they give me a severe ick so can't comment there.

He shouldn't have to push himself to the limit like that, ever. And the other hand Chan is deeply attuned to him and will be strong for him so that Jeongin can be taken care of by Chan. But who is taking care of Chan? You know? How will both these boys take care of themselves and each other physically and emotionally while labouring in that squeezedry industry. It would take a novel-length fanfic to explore it all.

Thank you, I shall take a look! I'm actually craving Minhyuk(BTOB)xJeongin fics because of that time in Kingdom: Legendary War when Jeongin fanboyed over Minhyuk's shirtlessness. But I've had no luck finding any. I'd searched for them the first time I watched Kingdom, too, because I wanted to read Minhyuk making Jeongin cry from feeling good instead of feeling distress, you know, but it looks like this ship has a crew of one (me).

I've never watched the full Kingdom (because time and I generally hate competition/elimination type of stuff even when I know my faves will survive, also reason I'll never watch the SKZ survival show) just performance clips so this is actually news to me :D I can only assume that all of Jeongin's hyugs took a merciless mickey out of him as is their right.
Be the change you want to see in the world! Sail that ship, paddle that pool noodle etc and write that fic!
