At this rooftop bar, they had a <a href=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/amzn.to\/3WKeUwh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">giant Jenga set<\/a>. Whoa! Apparently this is a thing. But this was my first experience with a giant stacking game. It was a blast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8358081ff69e201901ef7533e970b image-full\" title=\"7\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/abeautifulmess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/typekit\/.a\/6a00d8358081ff69e201901ef7533e970b-800wi\" alt=\"7\" border=\"0\" data-pin-description=\"Giant Jenga\"><\/a>Trey and I immediately decided we needed to create our own set for fun backyard times at our house. You could probably guess how to make it :), but here&#8217;s how we made ours:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"How to build your own giant jenga\" border=\"0\" data-pin-description=\"Giant Jenga\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8358081ff69e201901ef355f3970b image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/abeautifulmess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/typekit\/.a\/6a00d8358081ff69e201901ef355f3970b-800wi\" alt=\"How to build your own giant jenga\"><\/a>First, you need to buy enough 2&#215;4 boards to cut into forty-eight 10 1\/2 inch pieces. You can cut the boards yourself or have them cut at your local lumber yard. Try to avoid wood that has large knots or holes in it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, sand all the edges so everything is smooth and can slide easily across each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8358081ff69e20192acb257d5970d image-full\" title=\"DIY giant jenga set www.abeautifulmess.com\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/abeautifulmess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/typekit\/.a\/6a00d8358081ff69e20192acb257d5970d-800wi\" alt=\"DIY giant jenga set www.abeautifulmess.com\" border=\"0\" data-pin-description=\"Giant Jenga\"><\/a>Last, I painted the ends in five different colors: Grassy Meadow, Field Poppy, Safe Harbor, Panama Rose and Crumb Cookie. I went back and forth on whether to seal the wood. In the end I decided not to, because I was concerned that the surface might become less&#8230; slidable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Giant jenga via www.abeautifulmess.com\" border=\"0\" data-pin-description=\"Giant Jenga\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8358081ff69e20192acb64b11970d image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/abeautifulmess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/typekit\/.a\/6a00d8358081ff69e20192acb64b11970d-800wi\" alt=\"Giant jenga via www.abeautifulmess.com\"><\/a>If you do decide to seal, also keep in mind that some sealers (like polyurethane) can change your paint colors (like tinting your whites more yellow). Although I do plan to keep my stacking game outside plenty, I will probably store them in the garage during the seasons with a lot of moisture to keep them from warping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Giant Jenga\u2026. the end! www.abeautifulmess.com\" border=\"0\" data-pin-description=\"Giant Jenga\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8358081ff69e2019104ed4a97970c image-full\" src=\"https:\/\/proxy.goincop1.workers.dev:443\/https\/abeautifulmess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/typekit\/.a\/6a00d8358081ff69e2019104ed4a97970c-800wi\" alt=\"Giant Jenga\u2026. the end! www.abeautifulmess.com\"><\/a>This project is pretty inexpensive (especially if you substitute the wall paint for craft paints) and could make a really cute gift to a family or friend who loves outdoor games.
