I've seen better days
Jun. 21st, 2013 08:15 pmNew and helpful tech was always sorted out come arrival back in Abel, but today Jody was keen on smuggling. Having nicked it off a very dead zom, she'd made certain to slip it into her sports bra before stepping back under the gate. Her running didn't stop once she'd handed over her full backpack, face aflush with something bright and excited as she trotted round to find Simon.
Of course she found him flirting with Janine-- his Jenny as he called her, but she was quick to grab his wrist and pull him away. With a promise of some well-overdue work needing to be done and a petite girl who couldn't carry the boxes all by herself. Possible that Janine was thankful, but there were days she could never much tell.
Instead, once they were in a sufficiently isolated area, she dragged him behind the pharmacy, reaching into her shirt to produce a working iPod, charger still attached.
"Find me a slot so I can charge it tonight, see what's on it?"

How did you manage to find that? Wait, don't answer that, I'm probably better off imagining your heroics instead. Better for my poor blood pressure."
He took it from her for a moment, examining it intently to make sure it wasn't cracked or broken anywhere, then winked at her. "For you, luv? Anything. It shouldn't take too long, it's such a tiny thing. Maybe Sam will let me borrow some juice for a bit."

So she gave him a brief hug after, turning to whisper in his ear. "Of course, there's always some reward I can be giving for the assistance. I'm sure you can connect the dots of logic, there."
But not here, and she was fairly certain he was busy, but the offer stood. "Are y'hungry? Let's go bug Sam right now? I want to see what's on it!"

I'll meet you back in your bunk and we can see what horrible taste in music the former owner might have had."

Date: 2013-06-22 01:20 am (UTC)She did love Dr Meyers for that no-nonsense attitude she carried herself with. "You'll want extra spam? I think I can sneak it off without them noticing this time but you've got to stop gloating about it. They'll get smart. about it."
Wriggling free of his hug, she stopped only a moment to return the peck, soundly on his cheek but not without a quick, furtive grope of his very fine backside. She couldn't help it, was just right there, asking for it.

Date: 2013-06-22 01:27 am (UTC)It didn't take him long at all and he slipped back in her bunk a few moments before she did, sprawling on her bed to wait for her, the ipod resting on his chest as he resisted the urge to peek.

Date: 2013-06-22 01:38 am (UTC)She'd even taken to humming, jumping a little when she saw a familiar frame on her bunk and she scoffed-- playfully affronted.
"Now just who gave you permission to lay about on my bunk, hm? I just washed those sheets, Simon!" She still sidled in next to him, dutifully and meticulously setting his rations out for him. Brightening, she leaned over and moved in closer to the iPod on his chest, squinting at it. "Did you actually charge it?"

Told you it wouldn't take long. Was gonna try and nab the whole charge, but Eight spotted me, started giving me funny looks."

Date: 2013-06-22 01:54 am (UTC)"Runner 8... She's always a bit hoity toity. But then again, I'm glad she's on our side. Most of the time." touching the touchpad she scrolled through a few menus, frowning at the slightly damaged screen, but it wasn't so bad. The smell of spam and nettle porridge still made her hungry even if it was unappetizing, but Francesca made the best of what she had at her disposal.
"Oh, look, they've got jazz tracks. Eugene'll love those. He's always betting on me in the races, y'know?"

Date: 2013-06-22 02:21 am (UTC)...Not that trust was an issue Simon really worried about a whole lot, because people were people. And he could be rather cynical under his layer of good humor.
Instead he just grins and reaches for one of the plates, letting her scroll through the music. He swallows before chuckling at her comment. "Yeah, he makes no real secret of that. And with good reason, too. Although I enjoy giving you competition," he pointed out, shaking his fork at her.

Date: 2013-06-22 03:11 am (UTC)Sticking her tongue out, she sat up once more and pulled a face while she scrolled through several unnamed titles. Lots of pirating, for this one. Speaking of... "What do you reckon she got that captain and his crew to hide in that ship?" Eating while talking was fine between them wasn't it? She did make herself comfortable, cuddled up beside him. "Never did feel that settled properly once they'd blown it up..."

Still, he wrapped his arm about her when she cuddled up next to her, although he purposefully nudged her tray at her. "Eat your soup before it gets cold. You know how horrible it tastes then. And I have no idea. Think we're probably better off not knowing and it sunk to the bottom of the ocean anyway. That place gave me the creeps."

Date: 2013-06-22 01:45 pm (UTC)Finishing that, she turned and fed Simon a crisp. "I dunno, I'm glad whatever is in there is down in an impossible place, but... Still gives me the creepies. Makes me glad you ran off to fetch Bella for the water situation."
Veggies next, and finally she finished off with the spam, pulling a face at the salty flavour. Water washed it all down and she settled against him, iPod between them and one leg hooked over his. "Was hoping tthey'd have music you like on here, but they're a bit boorish." So in mollification for dragging him toward something that was somewhat disappointing, she kissed the side of his mouth. She knew Archie dying had struck him harder than he'd admit, she wanted to help him move past that... In non-life threatening ways.

Date: 2013-06-23 02:09 am (UTC)As she settled in to eat, he left his arm draped about her shoulders, keeping her curled up comfortable against her side as they took turns eating and scrolling through the new music selection. He chuckles at her admission and glances down at her, giving him a wink. "I'm not hard to please, you know that. Music is music."
He was still trying not to think about Things anyway.
