The Gardener comes to Netflix on April 11
Today, Netflix revealed the premiere date and the first-look images of The gardener. This "romantic thriller" has been created by Miguel Sáez Carral (Not One More) and starring Álvaro Rico (Sky High: The Series, Sagrada Familia), Cecilia Suárez (The House of Flowers, Someone Has to Die) and Catalina Sopelana (The Crystal Cuckoo, Sky Rojo), among others.
This new six-episode fiction series, which will be released on Friday, April 11, is produced by DLO Producciones, written by Miguel Sáez Carral and Isa Sánchez, and has been filmed under the direction of Mikel Rueda (Veneno) and Rafa Montesinos (El Inmortal), under the executive production of Miguel Lorenzo and José Manuel Lorenzo (Not One More, Tell Me Who I Am).
The gardener tells the story of Elmer and his controlling mother, La China Jurado, manager of a garden center that hides another thriving underground murder-for-hire business. Killing is easy for Elmer. An accident had left him emotionless. However, while planning the murder of Violeta, a charming nursery school teacher, he falls in love with her. Now, Elmer must learn to love while his mother does everything possible to end Violeta's life.
Filming took place mainly in Pontevedra, as well as in Toledo and Madrid.
